In plain English
We use cookies for three reasons: to make the site work, to understand how people use it, and (if you let us) to measure whether our marketing is working. We don't sell your data. We don't run cross-context behavioural advertising. You can turn off everything except the essential cookies, and the site will still work.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They're widely used to make sites work, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to site owners about how the site is being used. We also use similar technologies including pixels, tags, and local storage, which work in comparable ways. In this notice we use "cookies" as shorthand for all of them.
Cookies are either:
- First-party (set by tapestry.ai directly) or third-party (set by a vendor we use, such as Google or LinkedIn)
- Session (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent (stored for a defined period)
- Essential (the site can't function without them) or non-essential (analytics, marketing)
Cookies we use
We group cookies into three categories. You can accept or reject the non-essential ones via the cookie banner.
Essential cookies (always on)
These keep the site secure and functional. They can't be turned off because the site would not work without them.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Session and authentication cookies | tapestry.ai | Keep you logged in, maintain session state, prevent cross-site request forgery | Session |
| Consent state cookie | tapestry.ai | Remember your cookie preferences | 12 months |
| Load balancing cookies | tapestry.ai | Route your traffic to the right server | Session |
Analytics cookies (consent required)
These help us understand how people use the site, which pages work, and where things break. The data is aggregated; we don't use it to identify you personally.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _ga_*) | Measure site usage, page views, sessions, traffic sources | Up to 24 months | |
HubSpot analytics (__hstc, hubspotutk, __hssc, __hssrc) | HubSpot | Track site visits and form interactions, attribute leads to source | Up to 13 months |
Marketing cookies (consent required)
These let us measure whether our paid campaigns are working and show relevant content to people who have visited the site. We use them for attribution and remarketing, not for cross-context behavioural advertising.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
LinkedIn Insight Tag (li_fat_id, bcookie, lidc, UserMatchHistory) | Measure LinkedIn ad performance, build matched audiences for campaign retargeting | Up to 24 months | |
Meta Pixel (_fbp, fr) | Meta (Facebook) | Measure Meta ad performance, build custom audiences for campaign retargeting | Up to 3 months |
How to manage your preferences
When you first visit tapestry.ai, you'll see a cookie banner asking for your consent. You can:
- Accept all cookies, including analytics and marketing
- Reject all non-essential cookies (essential cookies still apply)
You can change your preferences at any time by clicking the Cookie preferences link in the site footer, or by emailing hello@tapestry.ai.
Withdrawing consent doesn't affect any processing that took place before you withdrew it. It also doesn't stop essential cookies, which are needed for the site to function.
Browser and device controls
You can also manage cookies directly through your browser. Most browsers let you:
- See what cookies are stored and delete them individually
- Block third-party cookies
- Block all cookies (note: parts of the site may stop working)
- Clear cookies automatically when you close the browser
Instructions vary by browser. Useful starting points:
For mobile devices, you can usually limit ad tracking through the device privacy settings.
Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track
We honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where technically feasible. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat that as a request to opt out of non-essential cookies for marketing purposes.
We do not currently respond to legacy Do Not Track browser signals, which were never adopted as a consistent standard.
Changes to this notice
We update this notice from time to time, particularly when we add or remove tracking technologies. Each version has an effective date. Material changes are reflected in the cookie banner so you can review and update your preferences.
